Väo CHP

Väo Power Plant - BEN Energy’s largest heating and power plant investment, so far

The most up-to-date technology available is used in the Väo Power Plant. Rising fuel prices and tightening environmental requirements have brought about technical solutions, which have, until recently, been little used in the production of energy. For example, the smoke condenser allows for the more effective use of energy and reduces the impact on the environment. The water created during the process is cleaned in special equipment and is used as additional water in the district heat network.
“The company will begin supplying AS Tallinna Küte clients in Tallinn with thermal energy. At the Väo heating and power plant it is planned to produce up to 190 GWh of renewable electricity per year, using nearly 500 cubic metres of wood chips.
The main contractor in the construction of the Väo heating and power plant is KMG Inseneriehitus; interior equipment is being provided by Siemens and the Finnish companies Noviter and BMH Technologies. Upon start up, 22 people will begin working at the plant.
Specific information on the power plant can be found on the web page www.elektrijaam.ee
