BEN Energy – new energy solutions in a changing energy sector
Founded in Estonia in 2004, and based on Estonian private capital, BEN Energy OÜ is an investment company operating in the field of energy, developing energy projects in the Baltic States and Ukraine.
BEN Energy’s objective in the Baltic States is to implement, over the next three to four years, investments in new heating and power plants and renewable energy projects in the scope of at least BEEK 2. BEN Energy's second target market is Ukraine, where the objective is to invest in the same fields, using the organisations knowledge and synergies with U.S. Invest AS group companies. BEN Energy’s strengths are:
· Extensive know-how in the field of energy, since team members posses long-term experience in the local electricity field (including experience from Eesti Energia), large project management (for example, management of the Estlink marine cable project), inclusion of capital (cooperation with funds) and the finding of technological solutions in the field of energy
· A good international communications network and active participation in the development of the local energy field based on experiences from cooperation with international partners (for example, Dalkia), the active inclusion by BEN of people in the discussion of Estonia’s energy problems and initiatives for opening the electricity market, and the creation of the necessary environment for new investments in production capacity
· Synergy between different energy field companies, since operation takes place via either directly or indirectly related companies that compliment one another in energy field businesses and power trade (in cooperation with Baltic Energy Partners), in the production of electricity
· Belonging to a financially strong investment group, which administers over 20 companies in the Baltic States, Russia and Ukraine, the annual turnover of which is over BEEK 3.2, where there are 14 000 employees, and which owns BEEK 4.4 in assets
